- Current MN teaching license in elementary education grades K-6, 1-6 or PreK-3

- Communicate and collaborate with professional staff to determine and coordinate standardized curriculum and testing/assessment designs, including design and assess student learning, scope and sequence, and coordination within a department.
- Create, formulate, develop, and implement instructional objectives and activities.
- Conduct classroom instruction, individual tutoring, and counseling based on teacher-created lesson plans, instructional units, and/or individual needs. This includes assessing student performance to determine the need for re-instruction, creating a supportive learning environment using appropriate verbal and non-verbal reinforcement, prioritizing tasks to use time efficiently, determining potentially harmful situations to avoid exposure, and providing time for students to relearn.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of student abilities and health status to determine needs and adapt appropriate responses, assisting with educational, career, and personal planning.
- Diagnose, summarize, and interpret student strengths, weaknesses, and problems for reports to parents and other school personnel.
- Respond to student needs by providing information and guidance on educational and career options, addressing personal and health concerns, serving as a student advocate, and acting as a liaison between the district and community agencies serving youth.
- Build credibility with staff, students, parents, and the community by relating to people from all backgrounds and demonstrating professional competency through content taught and teaching methods used.
- Assess, plan, and initiate public relations activities that improve communications and perceptions by the community.
- Assess, plan, and participate in in-service training, and develop or implement in-service training for other staff.
