IC Design Engineer II

Job Overview

ASIC Design Engineer focused on Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) – responsible for designing low‑power SoC methods for implantable pacing, defibrillation, and monitoring devices. This role is onsite 4days a week in Mounds View, MN, and works closely with digital design, verification, physical implementation, and system integration teams.

• Transform high‑level architectural requirements into detailed hardware specifications.
• Write clean, synthesizable RTL using System Verilog and Verilog.
• Develop and maintain reusable verification environments using UVM.
• Assist with silicon bring‑up, hardware characterization and troubleshooting with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Document designs and present in internal design reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (minimum).
• 2+ years of ASIC design or verification experience.
• Strong experience with UVM, System Verilog, Verilog.
• Experience with Synopsys or Cadence tools (Verdi, VCS, Xcelium, etc.).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, TCL, Perl).
• Familiarity with IC fault simulations or lab automation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work in a matrix environment.
• Experience in medical device industry is a plus.

• Regular mobility and use of a computer.
• May require onsite presence for lab debugging and equipment use.

• Base salary $92,000 – $138,000 USD (US excluding Puerto Rico).
• Short‑term incentive plan (Medtronic Incentive Plan).
