Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineering Program Manager within Operations Innovation – Manufacturing Technology, you will play a critical role in advancing manufacturing technologies that reduce risk, enable innovation, and improve patient outcomes. This role drives execution across a defined portion of the Manufacturing Innovation and Technology project portfolio, partnering with engineers across Centers of Excellence (COEs), OU’s, and manufacturing sites to mature technologies from concept through feasibility and readiness.
Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems. May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products. Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies. Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release. Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended. Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development. Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
- Crafts and executes detailed project plans, identifying risks, milestones, and resources.
- Leverages cross-functional expertise to align technology initiatives with company goals.
- Provides leadership and influence across a matrixed engineering environment.
- 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Previous Medtronic experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid presentation and computer skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
- Strong project management skills, including experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Effective planning and organization skills with proven ability to work against multiple objectives simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to develop and adapt business processes to support a dynamic and growing organization.
This role requires approximately 10% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
