The Manager
- Donor Relations position is responsible for implementing and expanding fundraising efforts to support the Ecumen St. Benedict's Communities in St. Cloud, Monticello, and Sartell. The role builds a culture of philanthropy, implements the annual Team Member Campaign, builds relationships with residents, family members, and grateful patients, and makes annual solicitations of those individuals. The Manager also enhances community engagement, fosters partnerships, solicits sponsor ships, and participates in outreach events to increase Ecumen's visibility.

Pay

The targeted pay range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. Ecumen considers experience, qualifications, certifications, licenses, and education when determining new hire pay.

Essential

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead fundraising efforts for Ecumen's St. Benedict's Communities (SBC), serving as the primary solicitor for individual donations.
  • Work closely with the Shoreview office on soliciting donations and sponsor ships from corporations, foundations, local businesses, and organizations.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, including discovery, soliciting annual and major gifts, and stewarding relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Individual Donor Relations to secure high‑level planned gifts.
  • Build a culture of philanthropy at the communities by establishing positive long‑term relationships with residents, families, and team members through one‑on‑one meetings, phone calls, and customized communications, including tailored major gift proposals.
  • Meet annual moves management goals and track all interactions in Raiser's Edge.
  • Organize cultivation and fundraising events that promote connection, recognition, and solicitation of current and prospective donors as well as local vendors and businesses.
  • Assist the Executive Directors of each community with their Advisory Councils and encourage members to assist in philanthropic and/or volunteer efforts.
  • Represent Ecumen through local speaking engagements that enhance brand recognition, build relationships, and increase the base of donors and volunteers.
  • Partner with local community groups and key referral sources such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Senior Centers, and civic organizations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑departmental leaders to align donor relations strategies with Ecumen priorities, including organizational growth and community outreach.
Driving Requirements

Local travel required: ability to travel up to 20% of the time outside of the normal commute to the three SBC sites.

Work Location

Hybrid; on‑site ud, Monticello, and Sartell locations 3 days a week with the ability to work up to 1–2 days per week remotely.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Five years of professional fundraising experience with a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
  • Proven track record of soliciting gifts and stewarding donor relationships.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree and/or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
  • Membership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals or the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.
  • Previous experience in senior healthcare.
