Minooka CCSD 201 is a public PK-8 school district serving approximately 4,500 students from several communities in Illinois. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an English Second Language (ESL) Teacher at Minooka Jr High School located in Minooka, IL. The ESL Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of English language learners as well as supporting students in their native language, Spanish, as needed. Day-to-day tasks include assessing students’ language proficiency, planning effective lessons, teaching English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and evaluating progress through a co-taught model.

The role will also involve collaborating with staff and families to ensure an optimal learning experience for all students.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English Teaching, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and Teaching experience
  • Skills in Lesson Planning and customizing instruction to meet diverse learner needs
  • Experience or knowledge of IELTS or other English language proficiency assessment tools
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for working with multilingual learners
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field
  • State-required teaching certifications and endorsements in ESL/ELL education
