Location:

Shorewood, IL (Hybrid) – Shorewood, IL 60604

Salary: $125,000 - $155,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • Lead and mentor Design Engineers, Project Engineers, and technical staff.
  • Oversee the design and permitting of roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
  • Oversee the design and permitting of water main and sanitary sewer improvements.
  • Oversee the design and permitting of stormwater management systems.
  • Oversee the design and permitting of bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
  • Oversee the design and permitting of parks and public spaces.
  • Oversee the design and permitting of commercial, industrial, and municipal site development.
  • Direct site development efforts including grading, drainage, utility design, access, circulation, and permitting.
  • Review and approve engineering plans, technical specifications, reports, and design calculations.
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, agencies, subconsultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor project performance, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and project discussions.
  • Support business development efforts and help grow key client relationships.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of civil engineering experience with increasing project management responsibility.
  • Experience managing transportation, municipal infrastructure, public works, or site development projects.
  • Strong site development design experience including grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting.
  • Knowledge of Illinois municipal regulations, IDOT requirements, and county permitting processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency with Micro Station and Geopak, or comparable software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Open Roads Designer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Candidates actively pursuing PE licensure are encouraged to apply.
