We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and effective exercise classes tailored specifically for older adults.

Job Overview: The Fitness Instructor will be responsible for planning, leading, and motivating residents in a variety of fitness classes designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and overall health. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with older adults and a strong background in fitness instruction, particularly in the areas of low‑impact exercises, stretching, and mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead engaging fitness classes (e.g., low‑impact aerobics, strength training, yoga, balance and mobility exercises, etc.) for older adult participants.
• Tailor exercises to accommodate various fitness levels and individual abilities, ensuring all participants feel safe and supported.
• Monitor participants’ form and technique to prevent injury and provide corrective feedback when necessary.
• Provide modifications for exercises to meet the needs of individuals with different health conditions and mobility restrictions.
• Create a positive, motivating environment that encourages participation and fosters a sense of community.
• Educate participants on the benefits of physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Maintain a clean and organized fitness area and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
• Keep accurate records of class attendance and provide feedback to residents on their progress.
• Respond to any health‑related concerns or questions and offer basic advice on safe exercise practices.
• Stay updated on trends in fitness for older adults and continue professional development in aging, health, and fitness.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Fitness Instruction (ACE, AFAA, NASM, or similar) is required; specialized certification in senior fitness or group fitness is a plus.
• Previous experience leading fitness classes for older adults is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and age‑appropriate exercise techniques.
• Ability to adapt exercises and workouts to meet the diverse needs of participants.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to connect with older adults.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
• Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of the aging process and its impact on physical abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to demonstrate exercises and assist residents when needed.
• Physical stamina to lead group classes.
• Ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate exercises for extended periods.
