Equipment Operator

Equipment Operator supports warehouse operations by efficiently moving, picking, and storing products using powered industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a cherry picker and using an RF scanner to manage inventory. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment and inventory management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Operate powered industrial equipment, primarily cherry pickers, in a safe and efficient manner
  • Pick products from racking systems and transport them to the dock for shipment
  • Put away inbound product by moving items from the dock to designated storage locations
  • Accurately scan, pick, and put away items using an RF gun or handheld scanner
  • Follow warehouse layout plans to ensure efficient product handling and inventory tracking
  • Perform daily equipment safety checks and report any maintenance issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle checks as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and MSDS standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Experience operating a cherry picker or similar equipment required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and RF scanning technology.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights (up to 10 feet).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime if required.
  • Current certification for operating powered industrial trucks (PIT). (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment. (preferred)

Safety

  • Observe and follow health and safety regulations
  • Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
  • Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
  • Maintain detailed records of safety incidents
  • Assign designated safety personnel
  • Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
