About the Role:
Probate Attorney
We are seeking a probate attorney with at least three years of experience to support our estate administration practice. This role is well-suited for an attorney who is comfortable managing probate and trust administration matters, enjoys client-facing work, and approaches sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage probate and estate administration matters from opening through closing using Wisconsin law.
- Prepare and review probate pleadings, inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
- Advise personal representatives and trustees regarding their duties, timelines, and legal obligations.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide guidance, updates, and clear explanations throughout the probate process.
- Appear in probate court as needed for uncontested probate hearings.
- Coordinate with paralegals and support staff to ensure matters are handled efficiently and accurately.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of probate, trust, and small estate administration experience.
- Probate Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Wisconsin probate procedures, deadlines, and court requirements.
- Trust Administration Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Wisconsin trust administration.
- Client Communication: Ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and professionally with clients during emotionally sensitive situations.
- Judgment & Organization: Ability to manage multiple matters independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Drafting & Review: Strong drafting skills and comfort reviewing and understanding financial and asset information.
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software (Clio experience is a plus).
- Professionalism: A collaborative, client-centered mindset and strong sense of responsibility.
