Registered Nurse Med Surg Neuro

Ascension seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Med Surg Neuro unit. In this role, you’ll deliver evidence-based care to adult patients with complex medical and neurological conditions. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, medication and IV administration, neuro checks, and close monitoring of changing conditions. You’ll collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, provide patient and family education, and support safe discharges.

• Provide direct patient care to adult med-surg and neuro patients, following physician orders and care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient status and responses to interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interprofessional team members on care planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions
• Support safe discharges and care transitions, coordinating with case management as needed
• Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards in all clinical activities
• Use EMR systems for accurate charting, orders, and communication
• Precept and mentor new nurses or students, supporting a learning environment
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
