As a Field Engineer/Project Tech II at Sunstate Technology Group, you will be instrumental in deploying cutting-edge solutions that encompass structured cabling, network equipment, security systems, and server/workstation setups. What matters most

To excel as a Field Engineer/Project Tech II with Sunstate Technology Group, you must bring a robust set of skills and qualifications that align with our high-performance culture. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in IT field support or structured cabling and networking projects is essential. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies is vital, along with experience with hardware from top vendors such as Cisco and Ubiquiti.

Proficiency in diagnostic tools like cable testers and Wi-Fi analyzers will enable you to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for interfacing professionally with clients and ensuring project transparency. A background in technical documentation, along with certifications in relevant fields, will set you apart. Your ability to think critically, solve problems, and build strong relationships will contribute significantly to the success of our projects and customer satisfaction.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Install and configure network hardware (routers, switches, access points, firewalls) and structured cabling systems (CAT6/CAT6A fiber)
  • Perform workstation and server deployments, including imaging, patching and security hardening
  • Execute project tasks such as VoIP system setups surveillance camera installations and backup system configurations
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues onsite or remotely, while maintaining compliance with safety and low voltage wiring standards
  • Interface professionally with clients during field visits
  • Work with project managers to meet deadlines, stay within scope and ensure quality delivery
