Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour shifts
Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our obstetrics team on the night shift
. This role is ideal for a highly skilled L&D nurse who is confident managing high-risk obstetric patients and OB emergencies in a setting without an in-house OB or neonatologist.
The L&D RN will provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (couplet care) and must be proficient in fetal monitoring, emergency response, and independent clinical decision-making.
Unit Overview- 7 Labor & Delivery beds
- 2 OB Triage beds
- 10 Postpartum beds
- 1–3 births per day
- Approximately 830 births annually
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
- Respiratory Therapist on unit 24/7
- OB Scrub Tech and Health Unit Secretary support
- 24/7 in-house Pharmacy
- No in-house OB or Neonatologist
- Provide nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients, including couplet care as needed.
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring and initiate appropriate interventions for fetal distress.
- Manage high-risk obstetric patients, including pre‑eclampsia and emergent OB situations.
- Assist with and circulate for cesarean sections.
- Respond effectively to OB emergencies and stabilize patients until providers arrive.
- Conduct comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments and document accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.
- Float to other units (primarily Med‑Surg) when needed based on census and staffing.
- Participate in on‑call rotation (approximately one shift per 4‑week schedule).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
. - Required certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Proven experience with cesarean sections.
- Strong clinical background caring for high‑risk OB patients.
- Excellent assessment skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Shift: Night shift, 12‑hour shifts

Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $48.32 - $58.19 per hour
