• 24 beds – Med Surg with Tele capability on all beds
• Adults and Peds (travellers do not work peds – assigned to perm staff)
• Must be strong in Neuro and Cardiac skills
• 2 years of experience required – ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; PALS preferred
• Shifts:
  
  12 hours – 36 hour guarantee with 3 cancellations
• EMR:
  Sunrise Allscripts
• Support staff on unit:
  Tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs and PCTs
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5 days; 1:6 nights; 1:4 peds – also based on level of acuity
• Nurse managers do not provide patient care but do rounds
• Float to all MS units and ICU (taking MS overflow patients)
• Hospitalist in house 24/7
• No IV team
• Resp Therapist 24/7
• Pharmacy 24/7
• Scrub color: any color except all black – Scrubs not provided
