Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a hospital telemetry/PCU/stepdown unit, delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor patient care, including complex medications such as Cardizem, amiodarone, Bumex, Lasix, Integrillin, Octreotide, and Protonix.
• Validate monitor tech interpretations, documenting findings accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the team to manage patient flow, taking 0-2 patients when needed and ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Support unit operations by participating in rounds, patient assessments, and responding to changing clinical conditions.
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed to support hospital coverage and patient needs.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with 1-2 years of acute care tele/stepdown experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including use of Phillips monitors and monitor tech validation.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days or nights) with an every-other-weekend commitment.
• Experience managing ventilated patients and understanding of critical care procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), and ACLS preferred.
