Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical​/Tele

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care on a 24-bed unit. The nurse will support adult and pediatric patients, with a focus on neuro and cardiac skills, ensuring high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement patient care in accordance with medical protocols and patient needs.
• Monitor telemetry readings and handle cardiac emergencies effectively.
• Collaborate with support staff, including telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs, to maintain optimal unit operations.
• Support float assignments across Medical Surgical and ICU units, managing overflow patients as needed.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies, following hospital and safety standards.
• Document patient progress accurately in Sunrise Allscripts EMR system.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years' clinical experience in Med Surg or Telemetry units.
• Strong proficiency in neuro and cardiac patient care, with demonstrated skills in these areas.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications; PALS preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights, with flexibility for cancellations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to unit support roles.
