Job Duties
The Install Assistant will be responsible for the proper installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. They will work with and follow the guidance of the Lead Installer to ensure the installation is executed properly to code and industry standards. Communicate with customers before, during, and after installation to ensure a 5-star experience. Ensure customers’ home is fully protected and cared for during the installation process.
Complete pre-install, safety, and post install checklist accurately.
- Create a customer experience to exceed the expectations set by the SRM or Comfort Advisor.
- Communication and professionalism throughout the installation process and ensure the customer is fully prepared to operate their new HVAC system upon completion of the job.
- Assist with the Installation of the HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and ductwork per minimum standards and installation manual requirements.
- Assist with the thorough start-up and testing of installed systems to ensure proper operation. Complete and sign the Safety, Quality, and Assurance Report.
- Adhere to safety procedures and use protective equipment as required. Complete and sign Job Site Hazard Analysis Report (JHAR) prior to beginning work on installation.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Upon completion of job call into Project Management Team and communicate issues and/or replenishments list.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to complete installations on schedule.
- Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and licensing requirements.
- 1 year of work experience HVAC industry as an HVAC Install helper preferred.
- EPA Certification
- A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Valid driver’s license and approved to drive by company’s insurance carrier.
Regularly works in indoor/outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures. Climbing, heavy lifting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching are required for this position. Ability to work in tight spaces such as attics and/or crawlspaces, ability to lift 50 pounds, to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items, occasionally work from heights 15 feet or higher above ground, have good visual acuity to see and focus close, at a distance, and with normal peripheral vision and normal depth perception, Willing to work hours outside of normal work schedule, if needed.
