Holy Angels is looking for a Director of Finance. This is a senior management role with responsibility for the financial health of the organization. This position will focus on overseeing the company’s financial activities. The right candidate will possess excellent business acumen, communication skills and a strategic mindset. This is a working management position and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The Director of Finance will have oversight for the Finance Department.
Specific Skills and Responsibilities Financial Leadership- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational accounting policies.
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for executive leadership and the Board.
- Review journal entries and support documentation.
- Ensure proper cutoffs, accruals, allocations, depreciation, and adjusting entries.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Develop and improve accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure every balance sheet account is reconciled monthly.
- Review reconciliations prepared by accounting staff.
- Resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Maintain complete supporting documentation for all significant account balances.
- Provide financial oversight of the ICF-DD Medicaid billing and accounts receivable process.
- Ensure accurate accounting for Medicaid, Social Security Administration (SSA), Private Liability (PLI), and other resident receivables.
- Reconcile billing activity to resident census, authorized rates, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and collection activity.
- Ensure subsidiary billing records reconcile to the general ledger.
- The Director of Finance is responsible for the preparation of all documents required to produce the annual financial statement audit. The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring that the auditor meets preset deadlines for completion of the audit and the submission of the 990 and other regulatory-required documents. This director will submit the completed audit to the CEO by the preset deadline of October 1 of each year.
The CEO and the Director of Finance will then submit the audit to the board's Finance Committee and schedule the auditor to present the audit to Holy Angels Board of Directors in the October board meeting. - Prepare audit schedules and supporting work papers.
- Prepare the annual Medicaid cost report with responsibility for preparing and validating all Cost Report Worksheets, the Cost Report's accuracy and timeliness, and the preparation of accurate financial information, allocation schedules, and supporting documentation. The Director of Finance is responsible for submitting the Cost Report by the deadline.

- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability.
- Promote collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service throughout the Finance Department.
- Lead the continued implementation and optimization of Oracle Net Suite. Responsible for the integration of other systems into Net Suite to gain operational efficiencies. Design, produce, and report key metrics and the Monthly Benchmarks to the CEO.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes, including but not limited to the integration of other systems to ensure interoperability.
- Improve financial reporting and internal controls through technology and process redesign.
- Degree in accounting/finance. Master's in Accounting or Master's in Business or associated field preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in accounting.
- 10 years of management experience.
- Experience in a healthcare environment including but not limited to long term care facility and/or outpatient or inpatient services preferred.
- Prior experience working within a Medicaid or Medicare facility preferred.
- Prior Budgeting experience on a company-wide basis.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a monthly financial close.
