Overview
Ochsner Health seeks a BC/BE Fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist, with sub-fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia or experience in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia, to join our team in New Orleans, LA.
Responsibilities- Provide and coordinate patient care in cooperation with department clinical staff, abiding by Ochsner’s core values:
Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence. - Daily practice includes the spectrum of pediatric heart disease for cardiac and non-cardiac based procedures; most days cover congenital cardiac cases with the goal of 100% pediatric practice; adult anesthesia cases available if desired.
- Join a team of 3 Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Faculty members and collaborate with a small team of CRNAs with abundant congenital cardiac experience (ratio typically 1:1).
- Operate within a tiered call system with 1st call divided equally between team members; post-call day off if staying past a specified time; ample vacation and CME time; potential to work academic time into schedule.
- Work within a program that includes pediatric heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices; service to a 54-bed Level III-C NICU and a 26-bed PICU; approximately 250 bypass cases and 500 cath lab cases per year; actively expanding outreach with satellite clinics.
- BC/BE Fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist.
- Sub-fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia or experience with Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
- Experience with congenital cardiac anesthesia preferred.
- Ability to perform 100% pediatric practice; adult anesthesia cases available if desired.
Ochsner Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana is a national leading children’s hospital by U.S. News & World Report with a nationally ranked congenital heart program. The center is the only facility in Louisiana with an accredited adult congenital heart program. The hospital services a 54-bed Level III-C NICU and a 26-bed PICU. The transplant and VAD program serves patients from infants to teenagers.
Ochsner is currently building a new children’s hospital with construction scheduled to be completed in 2027.
