Position: SPED 3-5 RESOURCE TEACHER

Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Shreveport, LA, for a SPED 3‑5 Resource Teacher within the Caddo Parish School District. The SPED Resource Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to meet the individual educational needs of students with disabilities in grades 3 through 5. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include developing and implementing lesson plans, collaborating with general education teachers, monitoring students' progress, and facilitating communication with families to ensure a supportive learning environment.

The teacher will also contribute to a culture of inclusion and student success.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Lesson Planning and an understanding of Education practices
  • Proficiency in Teaching and Training students with a range of abilities
  • Exceptional Communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and students
  • Knowledge of special education programs, accommodations, and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field required; teaching certification in special education preferred
  • Experience working with elementary students is highly desirable
  • Ability to manage a classroom and tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
