Salary: $47,365 Per Year
Work under the direction of the principal or assigned evaluator, administer the classroom in accordance with School Board policies and use instructional and administrative skills to promote student development. Teachers will fulfill duties and responsibilities associated with instruction, supervision, classroom management, student assessment, evaluation, communication, collaboration, and extracurricular involvement.
Teachers are held accountable for meeting the Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities Performance Standards (TAP), a set of 26 indicators on a five-point scale rubric. They are also responsible for student academic growth.
The TAP is divided into four domains:
Instruction, Planning, Environment, and Professionalism.
Instruction
This domain includes 12 indicators covering lesson planning, motivating students, presenting instructional content, lesson structure and pacing, activities and materials, questioning, academic feedback, grouping students, teacher content knowledge, teacher knowledge of students, thinking, and problem solving.
Domain 2:Planning
This domain includes 3 indicators:
Instructional Plans, Student Work, and Assessment.
Environment
This domain includes 4 indicators:
Expectations, Managing Student Behavior, Environment, and Respectful Culture.
Professionalism
This domain includes 4 indicators:
Growing and Developing Professionally, Reflecting on Teaching, Community Involvement, and School Responsibilities.
- Administer classroom in accordance with Caddo Parish School Board policies and regulations, including lesson planning, grading, reporting grades to the system, and contributing to school improvement.
- Accept administrative and management duties related to curriculum, extracurricular, supervision of events, and student safety.
- Work tactfully, harmoniously, and collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and stakeholders.
- Maintain attendance, dress appropriately, and attend required training and meetings.
- Accept other responsibilities as directed by the principal.
Employees must maintain a high standard of professional conduct. Breach includes neglect of duty, dishonesty, acts contrary to CPSB policy, unlawful activities, or other conduct prejudicial to the school system.
Minimum QualificationsUnited States citizen or authorized alien, as outlined in Louisiana Bulletin 746.
Personal CharacteristicsPhysical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, plan and organize, maintain physical health for regular attendance.
Terms of Employment172 days, or as stated in contract or agreement.
Reports ToSchool Principal and/or Assistant Principal or Assigned Evaluator.
