Assistant Principal - Caddo Heights
Location:
Caddo Heights Elementary School, Shreveport, Louisiana.
Position Type:
Full-time.
Reports to:
School Principal.
Supervises:
Assigned school personnel.
Terms of Employment:
Elementary: 194 days;
Middle: 195 days;
High: 200 days.

Minimum Qualifications- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in the five-year period immediately preceding appointment to the position of assistant principal.
- Valid Type “A” or Level 3 Louisiana teaching certificate with authorization as Provisional Principal, School Principal, or Educational Leader 1 or 2.
- Other requirements as set forth in Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel (Bulletin 746).
- Assist in administering the school in accordance with district policies, leading the school toward academic excellence through data‑driven goal setting and vision development.
- Support the principal in planning and implementing programs that provide an environment for teacher and student growth.
- Use domain components (Vision, Culture, Instruction) to evaluate performance and align with Louisiana Accountability System.
- Oversee data‑driven goals and adjustments, using student learning outcomes, needs assessments, observations, and stakeholder input.
- Foster collaboration among teacher teams and promote a culture of learning, professionalism, and shared instructional practices.
- Implement professional development aligned with the school vision and the Compass rubric, and cultivate a pipeline of teacher leaders.
- Ensure a safe and orderly school environment, maintain facilities, enforce behavioral codes, and coordinate support staff.
- Observe teaching staff, provide regular feedback, set clear objectives aligned to Common Core, and facilitate assessments and data use for instruction.
- Assist in selecting, requisitioning, and administering supplies, materials, equipment, textbooks, and services.
- Assist in supervising custodial, food, transportation services, and the maintenance of the school plant.
- Assist in establishing rules, accounting for attendance, supervising extracurricular activities, and evaluating instructional changes.
- Maintain accurate records, evaluate staff, and help implement professional development.
