Demonstrate a deep understanding of child development to support student learning during the transition period.
Incorporate best practices effectively into lessons (following established curricula) that will empower students to recognize strategies to improve learning outcomes.
Support the school’s mission and culture in encouraging each child’s lifelong love of learning and maintaining classroom consistency.
Create a classroom culture that maintains a secure, student-centered environment, promotes a challenging rigor, and continues to develop each student’s self-confidence and integrity.
Use a variety of formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback to monitor student growth, maintain accurate records for the permanent teacher, and provide students opportunities to self-assess.
Have a willingness to share your knowledge, expertise, and experiences with others, collaborating closely with grade-level and department colleagues to reach common goals while honoring differences of perspectives, values, and opinions.
Actively engage with colleagues, existing networks, and professional organizations to maintain continuity of instruction and continuously grow your knowledge throughout the assignment.
Be responsive to families in a timely manner and share important details and information regarding student progress throughout the duration of the role.
Be committed to self-reflection to evaluate your instruction, assessment, and professional responsibilities, adapting effectively to the school’s established pedagogical practices.
Adhere to the school’s expectations regarding punctuality, timeliness, dress code, and confidentiality while embracing and contributing to the school’s life during your temporary instructional role.
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
Lead teacher experience
Certification in Education
Proficient in advanced technology skills
