Sustaining Mechanical Engineer
The Sustaining Mechanical Engineer supports the Engineering Manager in a variety of sustaining engineering activities following the initial release of engineering deliverables. This role works closely with key stakeholders within the Mechanical Engineering Design team to coordinate design updates, resolve technical issues, and support ongoing project and manufacturing requirements.
The Sustaining Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and Quality teams in the execution of the mechanical and piping systems associated with large-scale data center modules. This accountability spans the construction, assembly, factory testing, and delivery phases of the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include reviewing, modifying, checking, and approving mechanical designs and drawings; facilitating effective communication across internal and external interfaces; and ensuring that all mechanical systems and components meet customer requirements for quality, reliability, efficiency, safety, and performance.
The Sustaining Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in supporting plant operations throughout manufacturing, inspection, repair, rework, and delivery activities. This position provides technical leadership and engineering support to ensure issues are resolved efficiently, design intent is maintained, and project objectives are successfully achieved.
Responsibilities
- Take instructions and guidance from Engineering Manager on sustaining projects for data centre.
- Work with design, manufacturing and quality teams to identify design changes and implement them in part numbers and drawings.
