We are looking for a customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide both onsite and remote technical support to end users. This position will be a field role, supporting multiple locations around the Baytown, TX area. This role is a key liaison between IT and the business, responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting computer systems, networks, and applications. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end users onsite and remotely, including after-hours support as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues.
- Maintain and administer systems including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, and network equipment.
- Assist in patch management, software deployments, and IT asset inventory tracking.
- Participate in testing, documentation, and deployment of new IT solutions.
- Travel to various locations to provide support and attend training as needed (up to 50% travel).
- Contribute to IT process improvements and support knowledge sharing.
- Ensure compliance with IT standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience (3+ years in a similar support role).
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, networking, VPNs, and mobile device support.
- Hands-on experience with desktop support, system configuration, and application troubleshooting.
- Certifications such as A+, MCP, or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems like Citrix, VoIP, or ERP platforms is a bonus.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working independently and in team settings, both in-person and virtually.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work flexible hours when required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office, field, and industrial site environments.
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs and use of PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug/alcohol testing.
