Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Leader

About Us Morris & Dickson Co. is a leading pharmaceutical distribution company with a longstanding commitment to excellence in service and reliability. With more than 180 years of service, we combine the stability of a legacy business with the energy of a rapidly growing organization. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to fostering a culture of excellence that puts customers first and empowers our people to deliver impact every day.

About the Role

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Leader to help shape the future of Morris & Dickson’s Distribution Operations. Reporting directly to the COO, this person will build and lead our continuous improvement approach while helping determine how our processes, labor, technology, facilities, and operating standards should evolve to support continued growth.

This is both a strategic and hands‑on role. You’ll work closely with our Shreveport Distribution Center and business leaders to improve performance today while building the capacity and operating framework needed for tomorrow.

You’ll join an organization with deep operational knowledge and a strong history of success. We’re looking for someone who brings fresh perspective and analytical rigor, respects the experience and expertise already within the business, and knows how to challenge assumptions constructively and turn insights into practical, lasting improvements.

Location: This role is based in Shreveport, LA and requires a strong onsite presence, particularly as you learn the operation and build relationships across the business. Some flexibility may be available based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

· Lead continuous improvement and operational excellence efforts across Distribution Operations.

· Partner with the COO and Operations leadership on automation, facility expansion, and future Distribution Center planning.

· Establish KPIs, productivity goals, dashboards, and operating standards that improve visibility, decision‑making, and accountability.

· Lead labor modeling, capacity planning, workflow analysis, and future staffing planning in partnership with Operations leadership.

· Translate business growth and projected volume into future labor, equipment, technology, and facility needs.

· Evaluate processes, facility utilization, product flow, and technology to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and cost.

· Use operational data to identify performance gaps, understand root causes, and develop practical solutions.

· Develop and continuously improve operational SOPs and standardized processes.

· Build business cases and ROI analyses for automation, equipment, and other operational investments.

· Prioritize and lead cross‑functional improvement initiatives from analysis through implementation and adoption.

What Success Looks Like

· Measurable improvements in labor productivity, operating efficiency, and cost.

· Clear KPIs and operating standards drive stronger visibility, decisions, and accountability.

· Capacity needs are anticipated based on growth, volume, and changing business requirements.

· People, equipment, technology, and facility capacity are utilized more effectively.

· A clear roadmap exists for modernization, automation, and future operational needs.

· Improvement initiatives are implemented, adopted, and sustained.

· Operations increasingly plans for future growth rather than reacting to it.

What You’ll Bring

· Progressive experience in distribution, operations, industrial engineering, operational excellence, process improvement, supply chain, or a related discipline.

· Demonstrated success improving complex, high‑volume operations.

· Strong analytical capability with the ability to work hands‑on with operational data, identify root causes, and translate findings into action.

· Experience with labor modeling, capacity planning, KPI development, process design, and business‑case development.

· Exceptional relationship‑building and influencing skills, with the ability to listen, build credibility, challenge thinking constructively, and drive change across teams.

· A player‑coach mindset…
