MAJOR GOALThis position is responsible for accurate receiving, storing, shipping, repackaging, and palletizing of product to meet company standards of sanitation, safety, security, and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Pick and pack orders, light assemble components that may require hand tools, and record storage.
- Repack or re-box cases as per customer instructions.
- Repair and recoup damaged goods as required.
- Count product, compare to manifest, and check all shipments for damage, infestation, and production code dates.
- Report shortages, damages, and miss‑shipments on appropriate forms.
- Sign for inbound shipments when necessary.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store merchandise.
- Ensure the correct number and type of product is picked.
- Compare quantity, labeling, and address with order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct.
- Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using material handling equipment.
- Stencil, tag, or mark orders as required.
- Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
- Accept signature for outbound shipments as necessary.
- Move product into trailers, rail cars, or containers efficiently.
- Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Operate shrink‑wrap machine.
- Charge forklift battery or gas tanks; repair pallets; clean railcars, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- High school or G.E.D. degree or one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
- Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, and write simple correspondence.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with numbers, weights, volumes, and distances.
- Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems with a few concrete variables.
- Proficiency in using software applications such as move management, timekeeping, HRIS, and other system tools.
- Prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, climb ladders, twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Visual acuity: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Outdoors and indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation. Exposure to vibration, poorly illuminated or awkward and confining work spaces, working above ground level with a risk of falling. Frequent lifting and carrying of items. Loud noises typical.
Physical/Environmental DemandsStand over two‑thirds of the shift, walk over two‑thirds, sit one‑third to two‑thirds, use hands, reach with hands and arms over two‑thirds, climb or balance over two‑thirds, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl over two‑thirds, talk or hear over two‑thirds, taste or smell under one‑third. Regularly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Regularly climb ladders and perform repetitive hand and foot movements.
