This 25-bed stepdown unit offers a comprehensive environment for nurses to enhance their skills and knowledge. The unit caters to a diverse patient population, including those recovering from cath lab procedures, bariatric surgery, and vascular surgeries, among other conditions requiring specialized care. The unit provides opportunities to learn advanced skills such as monitoring arterial lines and titrating medication drips. The nursing team is well-supported by ancillary staff, including unit clerks and nursing assistants, with a goal nurse to patient ratio of 1:3.

Nurses choosing this unit also have the opportunity to become ACLS certified and attend a critical care course, further enhancing their professional development. The unit is part of Willis Knighton North, which offers a Nurse Residency Program for new graduates, demonstrating its commitment to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
