WK Bossier has 12 LDRP rooms,5 Postpartum/Antepartum rooms, 2 C-section operating rooms, and a Level1 Nursery. We are seeking an RN with 2–3 years oflabor and delivery experience. The RNwill be providing nursing care to routine obstetricalpatients, routine postpartum patients and routine newborn care. Responsibilities will also include circulating in the operating room and recovery care for post-anesthesia patients following C-sections. The RN will also rotate through postpartum and nursery as needed.
AWHONN staffing guidelines are followed, with the nurse-to-patient ratio is1:1–2 forL&D/antepartumand 3 couplets for PP/Nsy care. Theexperienced RN selected for this position will have an extensive orientation with a preceptor. Nurses transferring to this unit are also afforded an orientation tailored to their specific needs. ACLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. are preferred but can be obtained through our Training and Development Centerfree of charge to hospital employees.
