Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 3 years of specialty experience, Epic, and prior travel experience.

• Active RN license (Louisiana or Compact) required in hand upon submittal
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Current NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)

• Operating Room unit with 10 OR rooms and average daily census of 20-25
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Call requirement of once per week and one weekend per month
• No call-in flexibility
• Uses Epic EMR
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve on a relief team
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RNs) required prior to start, though not required for initial submission
• Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible (measured from driver's license address)
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
