Job Summary
We are seeking a confident and highly motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team in Shreveport, LA
. This is a fast-paced position offering a combination of outpatient oncology clinic and inpatient rounding
, working closely with an experienced team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
The APP will also have the opportunity to help support and develop a High-Risk Breast Clinic
, providing care and ongoing surveillance for patients at increased risk for breast cancer.
- Work collaboratively with Hematology/Oncology physicians in a busy outpatient clinic
- Evaluate and manage patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Participate in rotating inpatient hospital coverage and rounding
- Provide care for patients through the High-Risk Breast Clinic
- Monitor treatment plans and help ensure patients are progressing appropriately through therapy
- Assist with oversight and follow-up of patients receiving infusion therapy
- Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
- Provide patient and family education throughout diagnosis and treatment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, infusion teams, and other members of the care team
- Established team of 6 physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers
- Highly collaborative model where patients are evaluated by the care team and physician
- Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient responsibilities
- Fast-paced, high-volume practice with the potential to see up to 35 patients per day
- Clinic is conveniently connected to the hospital by a walkway

- Strong, experienced team committed to providing compassionate care to a complex oncology population
- Current Louisiana license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
- Previous Hematology/Oncology experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and confidence managing medically complex patients
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills
- Comfortable caring for patients with serious and complex illnesses throughout the continuum of cancer care
- Full-time position
- Typical schedule approximately 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Rotating clinic and inpatient responsibilities
- Fridays typically consist of a lighter patient schedule with a focus on infusion support and select High-Risk Breast Clinic patients
