Job Description

The Lab Technician is responsible for sample logging, testing, condition monitoring, and overall lab upkeep while supporting the research and development team. This position also collaborates closely with the quality control team on sample analysis and production floor checks. The technician will conduct laboratory tests, ensure workmanship standards are met through instrumental analysis, and verify that all results align with required specifications.

Responsibilities

* Conduct laboratory tests and perform condition monitoring.

* Support the quality department and perform production floor quality checks.

* Utilize analytical tools and techniques including pipetting, titrations, Auto Viscometer, fuel dilution analysis, FT-IR, LIMS, ICP, and proper sample labeling.

* Maintain lab quality standards and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.

* Prepare results within the LIMS system and generate required test reports.

* Perform receiving and in-process testing while ensuring consistent lab upkeep.

Essential Skills

* Proficiency in titrations, wet chemistry, and analytical chemistry.

* Experience with ICP and QA/QC processes.

* Strong hands-on laboratory skills, including pipetting, viscosity measurement, and flash point analysis.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.

* Minimum of 1 year of experience working with ICP (required).

* Experience handling and analyzing fluids.

* Strong communication and teamwork abilities, supported by professional references.

Work Environment

This role operates Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM, including 5-7 hours of weekly overtime. A 1-hour lunch break is provided. Flexible Friday hours may be available based on production needs to complete a full 40-hour workweek.

The position consists of 95% lab work and 5% production floor QC checks within a small, collaborative 3-person lab team focused on quality, product development, and condition monitoring. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shreveport, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
