Lab Technician

The Lab Technician is responsible for sample logging, testing, condition monitoring, and lab upkeep with the research and development team. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with the quality control team on sample analysis and production floor checks. The technician will conduct lab tests and ensure workmanship standards are met through instrumental analysis, guaranteeing reliability and adherence to specifications.

• Assist and conduct lab tests and condition monitoring.
• Support the quality department and perform production floor checks.
• Utilize pipetting, titrations, Auto viscometer, fuel dilution, FT-IR, LIMS communication system, ICP, and labeling for sample analysis.
• Maintain lab quality standards and ensure reliable documentation and reports.
• Prepare results using the LIMS system and generate test reports as required.
• Perform receiving, in-process testing, and maintain lab upkeep.

• Proficiency in titration, wet chemistry, and analytical chemistry.
• Experience with ICP and quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes.
• Strong laboratory skills including pipetting, viscosity measurement, and flash point analysis.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience working with ICP is a must.
• Experience working with fluids is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, verified by references.

This role operates Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with 5-7 hours of overtime per week. A 1-hour lunch break is included. There is potential for flexible hours on Fridays, depending on production needs, with the opportunity to work a full 40-hour week. The position involves 95% lab work and 5% production floor QC checks, in a small 3-person lab group focused on quality, product development, and condition monitoring.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shreveport, LA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
