Shreveport, LA 71107 | Job Shift: 2nd
- Interprets procedures, specifications, and drawings to determine if product meets standards.
- Uses calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, thickness gauges, surf testers, radius gauges, and height gauges to determine if product meets standards.
- Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to QC Lead or production supervisor.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality database to create required documentation.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
- Notifies QC Lead or quality management of trending nonconformances / rework issues.
- Provides on the job training to new employees as needed.
- Follows all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read tape measure accurately.
- Detail oriented and high organization skills.
- Ability to utilize and read quality inspection equipment accurately.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe work boots, and gloves are required in plant.
