An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic person to support our Children in Care Health Team. The post is based in Shrewsbury at Coral House. You will be responsible for the administrative process's integral to statutory health assessments for Children in Care.
We are looking for someone with existing skills and experience in an administrative role to join our team and support the service for Children in Care across Shropshire and Telford.

Main duties of the jobThe post will involve a wide range of general administration duties; including managing enquiries, maintaining databases, using word and excel, arranging clinics and liaising with professionals within and outside our organisation to support the health and wellbeing of Children in Care in our area.
The role will offer you the opportunity to communicate with a wide range of people. You will therefore have excellent communication skills. You will be expected to work with confidential and sensitive information in a busy environment. You will be a valuable member of the team and have the confidence to work independently within local protocols and with regard to legislation.
You should be computer literate, be able to prioritise, show attention to detail and have the ability to work as part of the team or self-directed.
You must demonstrate how your experience and skills meet the criteria as listed in the person specification in order for your application to be shortlisted.

Person Specification TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS- RSA Stage II Word Processing/Typing qualification or ability to demonstrate equivalent standard and experience
- Able to demonstrate a good level of English language and grammar commensurate with composing own letters & ability to correct other correspondence as necessary
- Work experience of liaising with the public on the telephone and / or face to face
- Demonstratable experience of using word processing, database packages and other computer systems
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software
- Ability and willingness to learn how to communicate effectively and sensitively with colleagues, members of the public and others from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to work with limited supervision but seek advice when appropriate
- Able to carry out basic clerical tasks following instruction
- Ability to prioritise and organise own work to meet deadlines
- Ability to understand the importance of confidentiality and to maintain confidentiality at all times as necessary
- Ability to work on own or as part of a team
