Position: Technical Trainer (In Vivo Sciences)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Trainer I to support and deliver training programs in a laboratory animal research environment. In this role, you will coordinate onboarding and technical training activities, maintain training compliance, develop training materials, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure employees are prepared to perform their responsibilities safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, schedule, and deliver technical training programs for department personnel.
  • Support new hire onboarding, orientation, and hands-on training activities.
  • Ensure training programs comply with quality, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain training records, databases, certifications, timelines, and related documentation.
  • Develop, revise, and implement training materials, SOPs, technical procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with quality review and training of SOPs and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams on training initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support implementation of new procedures, equipment, and training programs.
  • Serve as a resource for certification and registry programs, including AALAS certifications.
  • Participate in study-related technical activities and departmental projects as needed.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced staff members.
  • Participate in client visits and facility tours when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Life Sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in laboratory animal research, laboratory animal husbandry, animal care, or a related environment.
  • Experience working with common laboratory animal species.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation

Starting pay: $26.00/hour

Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
