Developing Highways Manager within the Highways Transport and Environmental Maintenance Commissioning Team in Shropshire with £Competitive Pay Hourly. • Lead and provide professional advice on Highways Development Control matters ensuring alignment with Shropshire Council’s objectives.
• Foster economic growth by effectively managing development sites and agreements with local and external stakeholders.
• Represent the Council at magistrates’ court, public inquiries, and planning meetings to advocate for highways considerations.
• Ensure value is added to the highway asset by proactively monitoring site performance and inspections.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver a strategic approach that supports the council’s vision for a flourishing county.
• Manage and maximise Highways Development Control budgets, identifying opportunities for income generation.
• Engage with developers and agents to facilitate pre-planning discussions, enhancing collaborative development outcomes.
• Keep abreast of local and international trends in highway design and construction, integrating best practices into Shropshire’s infrastructure projects.
