Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities:

- Participate in the monthly close process, handling all aspects of the accounting cycle.

- Analyze and explain variances related to division activities to support accurate financial reporting.

- Assist with sales and use tax compliance, including timely filing and documentation.

- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Contribute to the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and supporting auditors.

- Execute daily cycle counts and investigate discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.

- Conduct cost accounting tasks such as analyzing labor efficiencies and monitoring company overhead expenditures.

- Perform flux analysis on major expense accounts to assist with monthly financial performance reviews.

- Utilize data management tools, including Microsoft Excel, to organize and analyze financial information.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

+ Bachelors degree in accounting/finance/related field

+ CPA required

+ 3+ years' experience with true GL (JEs, reconciliations, balance sheet ownership,) and the close

+ Manufacturing & Cost Accounting experience preferred

+ Sales & use tax and inventory cycle count experience a plus

+ MS Dynamics (GP) a plus

+ Advanced Excel required (ptabs, sum ifs, vlups etc)

+ Someone career minded looking to grow and learn
