Our client is a leading life sciences company that develops and manufactures tools and materials used in the production of biologic drugs. They are looking for a skilled QA Inspector II to join their growing team in Worcester County, MA! This is a great opportunity to contribute to an innovative life science organization!

Job type: 9-month contract (possibility extension or hire)

Schedule: M-F 8a-5p

Job Summary The Contract Quality Control Inspector II reports to the Quality Inspector Lead, QA Manager, or Director and is responsible for supporting the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The role focuses on inspecting, auditing, and documenting incoming materials and manufacturing processes using visual inspection methods and precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials from suppliers and approve or reject them according to documented procedures.
  • Verify and apply part number labels to approved materials.
  • Use inspection tools such as calipers, Micro-Hite, and comparators.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and statements of work.
  • Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for proper chemical handling.
  • Apply sampling plans during inspections.
  • Report non-conforming materials to management and support root cause investigations.
  • Assist with corrective actions, deviations, complaints, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Maintain accurate inspection records using Microsoft Office.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the quality program.
  • Support internal, supplier, and customer audits.
  • Review, investigate, and approve non-conforming material reports.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science‑related field or 5+ years of relevant quality inspection experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 Quality Management System.
  • Experience with medical devices, bioprocessing equipment, military, or aerospace inspection practices is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and inspect machined parts.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) preferred.
