Position Summary
Full‑time Forklift Field Service Technician / Mechanic – Wilmington, MA. First shift (Monday–Friday), hourly pay.

- Perform preventive maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
- Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Work and manage workloads independently.
- Properly complete and submit all required paperwork.
- Maintain company vehicle and on‑board parts inventory.
- Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance and be ready for work at the designated start time.
- Two years of previous forklift repair experience is highly desired, including military, guard, or reserve experience with MOS or NEC codes 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M or CM.
- Previous field experience is highly preferable.
- Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Possess own tools.
- Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
- Computer proficiency – HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software, and Yale/Hyster contact management system.
- Intermediate language skills: ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands; frequently talk/hear; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- No special vision requirements.
- Regularly lift up to 10 pounds; frequently lift 11–25 pounds; occasionally lift 26–100+ pounds.
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; occasionally wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
Base pay range: $28.00 to $43.00 per hour. The total compensation package includes benefits and potential bonuses, determined by geographic location, skills, education, and experience.
