Inventory Coordinator (Open)

Location:

Boston, MA (RDA) – Welding equipment rental

Hourly Rate: $25–$27 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate inventory of Airgas cylinders on medical center premises.
  • Maintain cylinder gas inventory par levels in consultation with the customer.
  • Support seasonal adjustments to inventory levels and place/process orders through Air  system.
  • Document cylinder gas inventory usage using Google forms or sheets.
  • Ensure separation of empties from full and in‑use cylinders.
  • Rotate all non‑specialty gas products every 30 days.
  • Perform scheduled rounds to maintain par levels at all locations within the facility.
  • Pickup and return empty cylinders to storage area(s) to ensure return to production facility.
  • Coordinate and welcome cylinder gas deliveries to insure accurate delivery documentation.
  • Change out gas/liquid cylinder manifolds at service sites.
  • Align with facility guidelines and procedures as well as Airgas standards and regulatory guidelines (SAFECOR, HS&E, MQCT, CGMP, OSHA, etc.).
  • Deliver on team objectives per existing procedure.
  • Make initial evaluations and collaborate for assistance when confronting problem situations.
  • Respond to emergency situations to ensure uninterrupted supply of product.
  • Conduct cylinder audits at specified intervals and provide inventory usage reports to the hospital.
  • Partner with the local accounts payable department to ensure accurate billing and timely payment.
  • Guard the safety of all persons and the general public surrounding facilities.
  • Collaborate with the local safety department to ensure staff properly handle and store medical gas products.
  • Submit Good Catch incidents to manager/customer as they occur.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to act as a single source for all customer requirements.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work effectively without supervision.
  • Thorough understanding of cylinder gases and safe handling methods.
  • Ability to understand and abide by stringent safety rules.
  • Annual immunizations such as TB screening and flu shot (client requirements).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of record‑keeping and documentation; ability to utilize the Airgas system to place orders and monitor cylinder balances.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables when limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to apply basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for vacation coverages at other facilities.
Physical Demands
  • Use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with arms and hands.
  • Perform work during prolonged standing and walking (up to 8 hours); frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion.
  • Lift 25 pounds routinely.
  • Push and pull loads weighing up to 500 pounds with material handling equipment.
  • Drive a forklift or be willing to learn.
  • Talk and hear co‑workers; smell or hear leaking gas from cylinders.
  • Abide to vision requirements (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus).
  • Read and transfer numbers accurately.
