Planning Ecologist

Hybrid (1-2 days office-based)
25.00 per hour PAYE 30.00 per hour Umbrella

We're seeking an experienced Planning Ecologist to support the integration of ecology within the planning process and help meet statutory nature conservation responsibilities.

You'll work closely with Planning Officers, the Ecology Team, developers, and key stakeholders to ensure biodiversity and habitat regulations are properly addressed within planning applications and policy documents.

• Strong experience as an Ecologist working within or alongside the planning system

• Confident applying the Environment Act, Habitats Regulations, and Local/National Planning Policy

• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently

• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills

• Access to a vehicle with business insurance (site visits required)

• Local Authority experience desirable

Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in office; office attendance required for induction).
