Warehouse Supervisor

Overview

• Directs the activities of warehouse personnel, including receiving, stocking, load building, customer service and deliveries.
• Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Oversees the safe and efficient handling of goods by employees operating forklifts or other machinery, ensuring proper training and certifications where necessary.
• Oversees and coordinates periodic inventory checks; prepares merchandise orders to meet merchandising requirements; maintains record-keeping to provide immediate access to current stock information.
• On occasion, performs the same duties as other yard personnel.

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and five or more years of experience performing and coordinating yard or warehousing activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Work is performed primarily in an outdoor yard environment, subject to variations in temperature and weather, equipment noise and dust.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds on occasion.
• May require tasks involving climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling.
