This is a full-time evening position from 2pm – 10pm.

Responsibilities
  • Clean assigned areas, including window treatments, floors, walls, hallways, ceilings, woodwork, fixtures, hand rails, common areas, offices, and disposing of waste/trash.
  • Replenish supplies (i.e. bathrooms, public areas, carts, etc.).
  • Perform dusting, mopping, and vacuuming duties in patients’ rooms, hallways, and stairwells.
  • Dispose of biohazard materials per SRMC protocol.
  • Clean carpets and furniture by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Move furniture to clean along wall and baseboards.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Disinfect and sterilize equipment as needed.
  • Clean inside of patient room windows, sills, and door panels.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas up to 3x or more in an 8hr shift.
  • Terminally clean vacant rooms or rooms where patients have been discharged.
  • Assure that adequate inventory of supplies are maintained to perform daily tasks and to meet daily needs. Clean and stock carts at end of shift.
  • Dust and clean hall areas to include hand rails, pictures, and lighting.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and panels in patient rooms, recreational area, bathrooms, entrances, exits, stairways, etc.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
  • Notify supervisor or maintenance if equipment is not running correctly or is down.
  • Coordinate isolation procedures with nursing staff.
  • Report all hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and residents/patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment; report environmental deficiencies to supervisor or maintenance such as lighting and equipment.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics, lifting techniques, and appropriate equipment to minimize injury to self.
  • Assure that work areas are clean and equipment, supplies, etc.. are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meals, and end of shift.
  • Assure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of shift.
  • Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing procedures.
  • Mix cleaning and sanitizing liquids in appropriate quantities by following safe mixing protocols.
  • Make sure wet floor signs are placed if mopping floors or working on floors that are slick.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of larger floor equipment.
  • Report all hazardous conditions or broken/malfunctioning equipment to maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
  • The ability to communicate and follow verbal and written instructions in order to perform the duties of the position.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Driver’s License.
