This position is PRN with the potential to become Full-Time in the future.

• Review and process orders for lab procedures for patients.
• Perform venous and capillary phlebotomy according to department procedure.
• Trained and certified in DOT/NonDOT drug collections and breath alcohol.
• Handle and process specimens to prepare for shipment to reference laboratories.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and timely, adhering to laboratory standards, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for accurate computer entry of patient demographic and test information.
• Responsible for maintaining adequate clerical supplies in the work area, ordering items as required.
• Be sufficiently knowledgeable about the legal aspects of his or her responsibilities and activities to be able to avoid inadvertent violation of State and Federal statutes and regulations.
• Comply with applicable laws related to their job responsibilities and refrain from knowingly participating in illegal activities or failing to meet affirmative legal duties.
• Carry out his or her duties in furtherance of the commitment of the organization to conduct itself, through the actions of its employees and agents, in an ethical manner reflecting its mission and purpose and to avoid violations of the law.
• Be knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent federal and state standards.
• Report any suspected or known illegal activity.
• Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies in all work/storage areas of lab.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma required.
• Experience:
  
  One-year related experience and/or training or combination of education and experience is preferred.
• Required licensure:
  Must have current and valid Nebraska Driver's license. Must be BLS certified. ASCP phlebotomy registry preferred.
