As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be part of a creative, diverse team solving problems in constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are energy-efficient, cost-effective designs. You will work with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build data centers that support our customers. You will be on construction sites daily, interacting with trades as Amazon s owner s representative, driving cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction vendors and contractors.

ResponsibilitiesThe Data Center Construction Manager will be responsible for construction project management and oversight of construction-related activities for new builds or capital projects, including ownership of scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases.
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
- Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
- Perform financial analysis of construction.
- Manage construction projects aimed at increasing resiliency of data centers.
- Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
- Manage construction documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
- Ensure construction project quality control and report key metrics to the team and management.
- Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Lead internal and external teams that support the data center."
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience transitioning new design concepts to deployment
- Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows OS
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
- US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or equivalent critical infrastructure
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- Experience in project management for data centers or similar infrastructure
