We are seeking a Design Architect to join our interdisciplinary design team at Ferguson Construction. This on‑site position can be based in any of our four regional offices in Sidney, Columbus, Dayton, or Indianapolis.

As a Design Architect, you will lead the design‑build process from conception to completion for projects in industrial, commercial, non‑profit, educational, recreational, retail, and healthcare sectors. You will collaborate closely with craftsmen, business development, estimating, operations, quality control, safety staff, and external consultants to deliver high‑quality construction documents and support construction phases.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute large and small projects from conceptual design through final design and detailing.
  • Complete conceptual designs for new builds, additions, and renovations while considering cost and constructability issues.
  • Detail and assemble construction documents in Revit.
  • Help develop drawing standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and review design drawings in coordination with the design team.
  • Submit drawings for permits and respond to plan corrections.
  • Lead and mentor existing designers and co‑op students from area universities.
  • Collaborate with outside consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Work with internal colleagues such as the Director of Design, architectural and civil designers, business development professionals, estimators, project managers, site superintendents, and crew leaders.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a professional degree.
  • Must be a registered architect with the ability to be registered in Ohio and Indiana.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience, with 10+ years.
  • Problem‑solving skills and understanding of construction, with ability to work with clients to meet their needs.
  • Proficient and well‑versed in Revit with knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Organized with great communication skills.
  • Quality‑, deadline‑, and detail‑oriented, with a customer focus.
