** AS A PACKAGING ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
*** Apply basic mechanical sciences to perform design analysis of packaging components, including industry standard packing tests, basic static/dynamic compression analysis, strength of materials, and design optimization.
* Implement returnable packaging designs to promote sustainability, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
* Operate computer programs to support design analysis and engineering efforts.
* Support project teams to develop and document packaging designs and specifications that meet the requirements of the product specifications and program charter.
* Produce and maintain accurate design records in accordance with specific project requirements using accepted corporate methods and Design Standards, including engineering notices, bills of materials, specifications, and related documentation.
* Provide support to product engineering, sales and marketing, engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, supplier quality, procurement, logistics, and advanced manufacturing.
* Complete distribution studies, analyze, and summarize results with environmental data recorders.
* Some travel required (5-10%)
** REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, &

SKILLS:

*** Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or an equivalent degree, plus work experience in related packaging design and/or manufacturing industry (co-op experience will be considered)
* Knowledge of ASTM, ISTA, and NMFTA Industry Standard Packaging Testing Procedures
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional presentation skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and on a team
* Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
** PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, &

SKILLS:

*** Two (2) years of related professional packaging experience
* Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements
* Two (2) years of Artios

CAD, or AutoCAD experience
* TOPS (Total Optimization Packaging Software) or CAPE (Computer Aided Packaging Engineering) experience
* Experience with the major packaging materials, processes, and machinery
* Returnable packaging design techniques and process experience
