Job Responsibilities
Lead in identification and implementation of effective solutions to improve the manufacturing process and capabilities. Develop and redesign facility layouts; promote continuous process improvements.
Develop plans for timely and effective project completion by considering all required information from customers, engineering, tooling, quality and production in the planning stages.
Create cost estimates and quotes for new and/or revised products. Initiate quote according to specifications, determining process methods, required equipment and optimum rates.
Develop and maintain all supporting documents of activities in an organized manner for easy retrieval for review and consideration.
Develop and implement employee training on new processes and equipment with documentation to assure optimum operation and employee safety.
Education, Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar. Related experience will also be considered in combination with education and training.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to develop project plans; coordinate projects; communicate changes and progress; complete projects on time and budget; effectively manage project team activities.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; demonstrate group presentation skills; participate in meetings. Present numerical data effectively.
- Understanding of basic coating chemistry and concepts
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct coating issues
- Understanding of industrial cleaning chemistry
- Understanding of industrial pretreatment chemistry
- Basic knowledge of screen printing and screen-printing variables
- Basic knowledge of roll coating
- Capability of troubleshooting roll coater and screen print applications
- Understanding of CIE LAB color space
- Ability to match colors in various coating technologies
- Understanding of and ability to conduct basic coating performance tests
