Technical Sales Engineer
The Technical Sales Engineer is a key member of our Copeland Cold Chain Technical Sales team focused on assigned OEM customers. The role involves understanding customer pains, recommending appropriate Copeland controls, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation and growth of Copeland products.
Responsibilities- Serve as trusted customer partner and technical subject matter expert in refrigeration, HVAC and lighting controls, including supervisory, distributed, custom and third‑party integrations.
- Act as OEM application expert, developing high‑level technical requirements for new OEM opportunities.
- Understand market trends and competitive capabilities related to controls and services.
- Collaborate with the sales team on customer‑facing engagements, pulling in Solution Architecture, Product Management, Systems Engineering, and other engineering resources as needed.
- Collaborate with Copeland execution teams to ensure successful deployment of controls, integrations, and services.
- Apply a customer‑focused approach throughout the land, implement and expand phases of the sales cycle.
- Maintain close partnership with the Account Executive for assigned OEM customers and cross‑functionally collaborate with Project Management, Product Management, Field Services, Solution Architects, Technical Services, System Engineering, and Professional Services.
- Interact directly with Commercial teams across the Americas and Product/Engineering teams in Kennesaw, GA;
Belluno, Italy;
Eden Prairie, MN; and Sidney, OH. - Support hybrid work model: present in the office at least three days per week.
- Travel 40–50% as required.
- BS degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Two years of experience in food retail or food service product development, engineering, field service, technical support, or a related industry.
- Knowledge of Copeland control systems for Food Retail/Food service, including E3, Site Supervisor, and distributed controls (e.g., case controllers).
- Hands‑on experience with Food Retail/Food service Building Management Software.
- Demonstrated success in a technical role within the food retail or food service industry, or a similar industry.
- Effective analytical, coordination and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel 40–50%.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers and internal team members.
- Proven experience in consultative solutions selling.
