Description:

Wilson Health's Occupational Health Department provides occupational health services that are robust benefiting both employers and employees reducing absenteeism and turnover, increasing productivity, morale, job satisfaction, and decreasing sickness and injuries amongst employees. The following services are offered by our department:
Drug & Alcohol Testing, Education Sessions, Employee Assistance Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Physical Examinations, Wilson Onsite Wellness, Worksite Health & Injury Management.

Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative is often the first point of contact for patients, employers, and visitors, creating a welcoming and professional experience both in person and over the phone. This role is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, communication, and administrative support while ensuring efficient daily office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer‑focused, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, employers, and visitors professionally, both in person and by telephone.
  • Register new and returning patients while accurately collecting demographic, insurance, and employer information.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, messages, and electronic communications using established telephone protocols.
  • Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently while meeting patient and employer needs.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR), practice management software, patient portal, and other technology systems according to department guidelines.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations when applicable.
  • Collect co‑pays, account balances, and process payments while following established cash‑handling procedures.
  • Enter patient charges, payments, and documentation accurately into the practice management system.
  • Coordinate referrals and maintain referral tracking documentation to support continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, employers, and other departments to ensure exceptional patient service.
